Maximum support of impact - a 'full body' impact that lets you feel a solid shot from the feet, through the body, to the hands. Through the entire 'chain'. It requires very solid sequence/Rhythm.

While it is tough to describe, the feel is easy to notice when done. If you can feel a 'solid' shot in both your hands AND your feet, you've got it.

I don't know about a MaxPart stroke but my def for MaxPart is:

"Running it to the end."

1-Deep elbow into the pivot
2-snap release- the late release is another "it."
3-straightened right leg for greater hip turn.

This is really great, Ed. Thanks. You are absolutely right on.

Your Feet secure you to the ground. Your Hands secure you to the Club. When the two are connected...

Magic happens.

What Is A 'Maximum Participation' Stroke?

Great thread-opener, Mike. Thanks!

IMHO...

Maximum Participation Stroke = Maximum Component Movement.

That is...

The most movement of the Feet (Weight Shifting with Heels lifting and lowering).

The most movement of the Knees (Right Knee straightening on the Backstroke and Left Knee Straightening on the Downstroke).

The most movement of the Hips and Shoulders (a Full Turn with a Weight Shift and the Hips leading the Shoulders in both directions).

The most movement of the Hands and Wrists (Turn and Cock on the Backstroke and Uncock and Roll on the Downstroke).

The most movement of the Clubface through Impact and Follow-Through (Both Arms Straight position). This is the Full Roll of Horizontal Hinge Action, i.e., the Flat Left Wrist remaining perpendicular to the ground from Impact to Follow-Through.

The most movement of the Right Elbow in the Downstroke (to a 'down and in-the-front' position).

In terms of Power, Maximum Participation means the Accumulation and Release of each of the four Power Accumulators:

1. The Bending and Straightening Right Elbow.

2. The Cocking and Uncocking Left Wrist.

3. The Turning and Rolling Left Hand.

4. The Swinging of the Left Arm (as stretched and guided by the Right Forearm and Delivered by the Pivot).

In other words, Maximum Participation is Golf to the Max.

"sustain the lag"
Originally Posted by Mike O View Post

A stroke, in which all the parts (including the body and club) are participated actively and simultaneously, which can only be achieved when the "lag" is sustained.

YOU load and sustain the "LAG", during which the "LAW" releases it, ideally beyond impact.
"Sustain (Yang/陽) the lag (Yin/陰)" is "the unification of Ying and Yang" (陰陽合一).
The "LAW" creates the "effect", which is the "motion" or "feel", with the "cause", which is the "intent" or "command".
"Lag" is the secret of golf, passion is the secret of life.
Think as a golfer, execute like a robot.
Rotate, twist, spin, turn.
Bend the shaft.
