The Real Problem

So...we are not getting it. It must be frustrating trying to teach over the internet. But allow me to frustrate you once more....

It's one thing to understand the types of hinges. It's another thing to understand WHY I need to know it?

If it occurs after impact, what is it's purpose? Other than knowing how I hinge after impact, why does it matter? So I'm an angled hinger, now what?

To put this into perspective, I'm new to the book and I'm currently working my way through chapter 12 and it's corresponding items in chapter 10.

First...

No, trigolt. the students in this thread are getting it. It is justtaking an extraordinary effort on both our parts to do so.

If you have not constructed your hinge apparatus, though, I do not expect youto fully understand -- as I stated to the forum before we began.Question: Have you bought the materials and constructed your Hingeapparatus? Unlike many other students who have fulfilled that requirement, you have not PMed me to that effect.

Those who have done as asked are exactly where they should be.

Second...

Per 1-L #4 "The Hinge Assembly controls the Clubface alignment."This was an assignment to be memorized. Did you memorize it per my instructionto repeat it five times and more if necessary? Given all that I have writtenand referenced to The Golfing Machine text, how any serious studentcould say that "the Hinge Action occurs after Impact, so what does itmatter" is beyond me.

No, what frustrates me are the limitations of the medium. And beyond that, students who don't listen or complete their assigned tasks.
