If I have been away from the forum for awhile,
and if I don't have the inclination to read every new post,
how can the rest be cleared from the new posts area?
There is a "Mark Forums Read" link on the forum menu under "Quick Links" or directly on the menu depending on your browser. Click that and all forums will show up as read.
