The importance of a tight right forefinger grip on short shots
Around the green sometimes I find myself making a long backstroke and a short follow through, Greg will put his leg a couple feet behind the ball so that I can't make a long backstroke and have to accelerate through. This is one of the most frustrating, tedious things he has me practice because it just doesn't seem to have enough mustard to get to the hole, then I remembered homer's bit about the tight right forefinger grip and also verifying all the pressure pressure points. When the pressure points are firm and verified power flows through the pressure points with less energy loss and sure enough soon I couldn't swing short enough. Especially true in putting, firm grip without tension and verify all the pressure points in the hands and you will strike it more solidly with less energy loss, power flows through pressure points, it is your direct link to the golf balls deformation. Of course this is equally true for full shots but on those short putts and short wedge shots u will especially notice it.
