More post for hitting driver please.
I have problem hitting the driver. I can hit upto 3 woods but for the driver still unable to master it.
1. Hitting down to take an air divot as been mentioned many times: on a steep plan? 2. Using a extension action, my driver goes on a steep plan, do you just hit down, drive the right arm as Yoda said? But the distance for me is still short 230 yards. 3. Taking a flat plan seems more naturally with the right arm but the action is more paddling or fanning and will hit hooks easily. 4. I have the ball position more back, rather at low point (otherwise hit a hook), is this more back position for hitting? 5. Because the ball is tee up, I found it more difficult to have a consistent swing than hitting the ball on the ground for a 3 wood, why is that? If you can put a dartfish for hitting a driver it will be very great and appreciated. Thanks. |
Any comments? Anyone.

If you are having trouble Hitting with the driver I would suspect over acceleration. Try to be more deliberate, positive and heavy (3-F-6). If you deliberately Drive the hands to Aiming Point so that you feel the #3ppt the whole way down I'll bet you'll hit the driver better than ever. Take a wet mop and push it through impact and then try to duplicate that feel (impossible to be quick). Yoda showed me this one and it works. Good luck!:)

Hitting the driver
Quote:
Thanks to Yodasluke and Bobbyj (thank you gentlemen;) ) I started some changes very effective for my driving . Maybe this can help you too? 1- Hovering the driver help me to concentrate on SMOOTH start up and backstroke, ON PLANE (10-6-d), with no roll action. (before it was more a "pulling out" action from the ground) 2- The air divot image is very effective for me . From the top I am more concentrate on Right Arm Thrust again the club through PP#1. I try to push my hand DOWN directly to the aiming point , and it works 3- I tee lower than I used to do. Hoping this can help PM |
