Does it work?

I am not sure if i really enjoyed using it.. Hit alot of good shots with it ... but really prefer either woods or irons.

The feeling of a pured long iron can't be beat, but the forgiveness of a mis-hit hybrid is a heck of a lot better than that of a 3 iron. They're easier to hit out of the rough too. I'm still not used to using my hybrid and am still searching for one I really like. My brother has a nice one (can't remember make/model) that feels and sounds more like an iron, and I think I could get used to that style much easier.

I know Mizuno makes a hybrid model that looks more like an iron.

I have also heard that the cobra long irons are easier to hit than most, if you prefer long irons. I'm not a good enough player to be an authority, but don't have a great deal of trouble hitting my Cobra 3-iron.

I have seen a progression of changes in my bag. I used to have 3 wood, 2 iron, 3 iron. Then replaced the 2 iron with a 5-wood. Then I replaced the 5-wood with a hybrid. Then the 3-iron, and finally the 3-wood. I now carry 3 hybrids. All are Cobra Bafflers. I don't see going back.

I use a TM rescue dual 19 degree with an IROD shaft. It is one of my favorite clubs.

I'm carrying 2 hybrids now, a TM 19 degree and an Adams Idea 13 degree. The Adams gets swapped out with my Zing 1-iron depending on course and conditions (if it's windy and I wanna be able to hit shots really low and hard, then the 1-iron gets the nod). I don't carry a fairway wood.... just haven't been able to find one I like.

I have the Irod TOUR Hybrid Utility shafts in each. This is a version of the IROD Hybrid shaft that is only available through authorized UST dealers. It's heavier but balanced very nicely. Though harder to get and pricey (over $100 if I recall) they are worth it if you're looking for a really good performing shaft for a Hybrid.

The new Adams rescue clubs have the most appealing look to me. In general I think the slightly shorter shaft and the more compact look of a Hybrid make them much easier to hit than a FW wood. That same shape and weighting difference makes them easier to hit than the long irons for many.

I have these Mizuno iron hybrids...the 18 & 21 ....they're great & in the bag to stay.:)

I've got the mizuno hybrid (clk fli hi) and they're a great stick (19 deg). All hybrids give up some feel, but the types of lies and flight you can hit them from compared to long irons more than make up for the difference. They've got more 'feel' IMO than the TM or Adams, but Adams are 'very' forgiving (at a big feel loss).

The Mizunos are much easier to work with trajectory than most others I've tried.

Have you tried the Adams Idea Pro hybrid?

I haven't tried it yet, but I heard it is more of a players club. I have seen this in the bag of many PGA, and Champion Tour players bags.

Yes - very forgiving IMO.
