plane shifts
I'd like to hear what some of you find the ideal hand path in the backswing.

I know some models stay on hand plane to parallel ONE, and then shift to elbow plane and then maybe to TSP at parallel TWO.

What are the pros and cons to plane shifts on the way back but also from parallel THREE to FOUR. Would we say its optimal to get back to hand plane at impact or can we be between hand and elbow plane ?

First of all the book says that Plane Shifts are hazardous . . . so the question be comes why? answer . . . the face vector and path vectors can get skewed if you shift your hands around a bunch. An interesting study is Furyk . . . . his club does obviously WHACKY stuff but watch his hands and hand path. Doesn't really deviate. Also watch Brian . . . he basically has the hands occupying the same space on the way up down and they match thru his body coming through too. If you have the hands shifting all around then you are going to have problems with scattered vectors potentially including disruption of the #3 angle which will compromise you ability to control the face.
