We've implemented several updates to the forum's search engine over the past couple months, and we just added one more - the ability to choose a "boolean" search. This new type of search works more like a traditional search engine where you can do searches like:
Flying AND Wedges
...returns only posts with the words flying and wedges in them...
Flying Wedges ...or... Flying OR Wedges
...returns posts with the words flying or wedges in them...
"Flying Wedges"
...returns posts with the exact phrase "Flying Wedges" in them.
To use this new type of search, click on "Search"->Advanced Search, and you have two options in the lower left corner of the screen:
"Natural Language Search" and "Boolean Search"
The natural language search is the default and is similar to the "Ask Jeeves" style searching where best results should come from search strings like "How do I set my flying wedges?" If you prefer the Boolean Search and want it to be your default, select it then click the "Go" button at the bottom next to the "Save Search Preferences" drop down.
I've been all over that topic on their site but will check again and use their tools to re-generate the search indexes. Give it another try later tonight.
