Congrats to 15 year old Michelle Wie for a win in her first round match play in the US Amateur Public Links Championship. The winner traditionally gets an invite to the Masters, and Michelle is well on her way.
I know a lot of people don't like her competing against the men (especially with sponsor's exemptions), but I can't help but cheer for her for some reason.
Should she win her next round match against C D Hockersmith and Jim Renner wins his second round match against Tyler Neal, they will face off. Jim is one of my students (A Machiner).

Any clips of Jim's motion?
Congrats

Anyone notice her pre-shot routine at the Deere classic last week?
She had the club in her left hand with the shaft laying against an open falt right hand. She took the club back with the left and open right hand. She was tracing the inclined plane with the open right hand. Sort of a RFT with and open right hand.

Renner, a junior at Johnson & Wales University in Miami and the NAIA medalist, won two of the next three holes to cut into her lead. But then Wie hit a low 3-iron shot from 220 yards into 15 feet and made the birdie to go 2-up.
"I'd like to see another 15-year-old girl — or a 15-year-old in general — do that," Renner said. "There's not many guys in this tournament who can hit that shot."
Michele qualified for this event right here in Pittsburgh. There is a phenomenal high school player at my course and I sometimes walk nine with him in the evenings after work. He played in that qualifier. I asked him what her game was like and if she was the "real deal". His response was , " Oh yeah, she's just awesome." Enough said. Dr Dave

Wie beat him 3 and 1. She is in the final 8.
Jim said he struck the ball very well, enjoyed the gallery, but missed five putts under five feet. You are not going to win anything putting like that .
