Hitting - for beginners
Just played a round with a guy who was very frustrated with his progress. He's a (seemingly solid) 9-marker, but he reported that every time he tries go have a lesson his swing becomes completely messed up.

I started watching him playing and soon noticed he is a Hitter. Short backstroke, short follow-through and massive righ arm participation.

I asked him what he was typically adviced during his lessons. From his reply it was clear that his pro was a Swinger and wanted him to become one.

I told him that he is using right arm muscle power while the pro wants him to use centrifugal force.

He got that and wondered what he should work on. I said I could not give him a straight answer, but that I could potentially take him through it if we sat down and established some common (TGM) ground.

There was no time for that this evening, but I'd appreciate Hitters telling me what alignments, components that a Hitter should probably start out working on that are different from what a Swinger should work on.

Here's a few differences for a beginning Hitter to keep in mind:
Are we making progress here or what?

Just make sure that he only closes the face the amount he needs to hit it straight. A lot more with the woods/long irons and progressively less as you go down

All's Square Around The Greens
And with the Putts, Chips and short Pitches, both Hitters and Swingers make no adjustment for the intended Hinge Action (normally Angled for Hitters and Horizontal for Swingers). Instead, they address the Ball with the Clubface Square.
