Lynn Blake Golf Academy At Old Waverly
Old Waverly Golf Club, West Point, Mississippi
April 21-23, 2006
The Program
The Lynn Blake Golf Academy at Old Waverly will feature comprehensive training in the principles and procedures of Homer Kelley's landmark text, The Golfing Machine®. In an intense, three-day training regimen, you will be led step-by-step to the most effective, efficient golf stroke you are capable of producing at this time. We will begin with understanding the Core Concepts and proceed to build your stroke in three stages: Basic Motion, Acquired Motion and Total Motion. In addition to the Full Stroke, you will learn Short Game Basics and specialty shots that will dramatically enhance your ability to score. You will receive a personalized Video Analysis on CD that will highlight those areas that need work and be given a program to implement on your own for continuous progress and a lifetime of better golf. Finally, you will play twilight golf each afternoon on Old Waverly, perennially ranked the finest golf course in Mississippi and a member of the 2005-2006 Golf Digest America's Greatest 100. Dawn to dark, this will be as good as it gets.

Travel Directions
If possible, students traveling by air should fly into Golden Triangle Airport (GTR), a 20-minute drive from Old Waverly. A free shuttle service is available to and from the airport. An alternative airport is Jackson Mississippi (JXN), just over two hours from Old Waverly.
Upon confirmation of your LBG Academy registration, you will be given instructions to arrange your lodging at the LBG group rate. Once you are on the grounds, there will be no morning travel hassle getting to and from the Lesson Tee: Just roll out of bed and head up to the Clubhouse for a hot breakfast at Murphy’s. From there it will be into our carts and off to the Old Waverly Teaching Center. During the day we will eat golf, breathe golf, live golf. We will learn, practice and play. And when it’s dark and we just can’t do it anymore, we’ll head to Cameron’s and finish the night off. Then we will sleep golf and get up and do it again. Lynn Blake, is one of the few individuals fortunate enough to have been trained personally by Homer Kelley. In January 1982, then an amateur, he received from him the designation GSEM (Golf Stroke Engineering Master). He turned professional soon thereafter, and over the next three years, while continuing his financial business, conducted more than forty golf schools in six states. In the fall of 1984 and after the death of Mr. Kelley, though his golf schools were successful by any definition, he determined that he could no longer 'ride two horses,' and he ceased his golf activities. Twenty years later, he has returned as an authoritative voice of The Golfing Machine®.
In April 2004, he conducted his inaugural 'comeback' Workshop for both professionals and amateurs at the PGA TOUR Academy in St. Augustine, Florida. Over the next eighteen months, ten more sold-out Workshops followed at major resort and private club locations in seven states from coast-to-coast and also in Germany. During this time, he was awarded the GSED (Golf Stroke Engineering Doctor) by The Golfing Machine, LLC. In addition, he has taught numerous Private Workshops for an international clientele including several of the nation's most respected PGA teaching professionals. In January 2006 he was the Lead Instructor teaching 28 PGA professionals at the two-day regional conference of custom clubmaker Henry-Griffitts. In March 2006, he will be a main platform speaker for a full half day before more than 600 professionals of the Swedish PGA. On the PGA TOUR, he was last seen at the 2005 Buick Open, where he worked for three days with Brian Watts, a thirteen-time winner on the Japanese Tour and who tied for first in the 1998 British Open, losing the playoff to Mark O'Meara.
Of his recent accomplishments, he is most proud of LynnBlakeGolf.com, a website formed in January 2005 that he feels is destined to revolutionize the world of conventional golf instruction. With extensive archives and a growing Video Gallery, it now boasts more than 2,000 Registered Members who have contributed more than 21,000 posts to its Forums. Lynn is a prolific writer for the site, logging more than 3,000 posts since its founding.
Ted Fort, GSEB, PGA
Ted Fort was elected to membership in the PGA of America in June of 1996. In his first year, the Georgia PGA Section named him Assistant Professional of the Year. He earned the designation Golf Stroke Engineering Bachelor (GSEB) from The Golfing Machine, LLC, in 2004.
Ted's lesson book is filled weekly with satisfied students making serious progress and their referrals. On the Professional Tours, he presently works with Lori West, an 18-year veteran of the LPGA Tour, whose first victory came in 2002 on the Women's Senior Golf Tour. She followed that performance with a second victory in 2003. In addition, Ted works with Brian Nash, the 2000 National Long Drive Champion and Pinnacle Long Drive Team Member. Brian's personal best is a 418 yard drive.
Tony Sills, PGA
Tony Sills played the PGA TOUR for 13 years (1983-1996). He won the 1990 Houston Open and has played two Masters, five PGA Championships and five U.S. Opens (including a Top 15 finish at Oakland Hills). Since retiring from tournament golf, Tony has translated his playing skills into teaching skills and now assists golfers of all levels at Old Waverly.
V.J. Trolio, GSEM, PGA
V.J. Trolio played Division 1 collegiate golf at the University of Southern Mississippi. He served as Team Captain during the ‘96-’97 year, and as a senior became the first Golden Eagle to earn a birth into post season play at the ’98 NCAA Championship. After graduation, V.J. turned professional, playing the Hooter’s, Teardrop, and various other mini-tours across the country. A week after missing qualification for the second stage of Tour School, he qualified for the Southern Farm Bureau Classic, one of the year-end tournaments on the PGA TOUR. This week would forever change his concept of how the game should be played.
In 2000, V.J. sought help from Rob Noel, GSEM, who introduced him to The Golfing Machine®. In 2001, V.J. was awarded the designation, Golf Stroke Engineering Bachelor (GSEB), the first instructor in Mississippi to have achieved that recognition. This year, he earned his Golf Stroke Engineering Master (GSEM).
For the past three years, V.J. has spent most of his life on his Lesson Tee at Old Waverly Golf Club. His student list of top-ranked juniors, amateurs and touring professionals continues to grow. During this time, he also co-created The Putting Arc ®, a revolutionary golf training aid now being used by more than sixty PGA TOUR, LPGA Tour, Champions TOUR and European Tour Professionals, along with countless top amateurs.
Really enjoyed meeting and working with you and Ted in Marietta last week. I'm trying to fit this event into my travel schedule. Any issues with bringing the wife (non-golfer) along and is there someone to talk to at Old Waverly for group rates on the rooms?

Hope you've seen your Stroke photos up in the 'Amazing Changes' thread. You made a huge and very positive change in only two hours -- the first conceptual and the second in actual application. Good work!
No problem at all with an accompanying non-golfing spouse. Each of the cottages has four distinctly separate sleeping rooms. Go to www.oldwaverly.com and click on 'cottages' to see the bed options. The price is the same. Reservations should be made directly through the Lodge Front Desk at 662-495-5485. We've already reserved twelve rooms, so just tell them you are with the Lynn Blake Golf Academy, and they will assign you one. All rooms are equal in living area and amenities.
Your Academy registration and room reservation are complete, Hoppy. We'll get the PGA Continuing Education credits we discussed as well. Thanks, and...
