Sometimes, a player shoots 66 and you read about the miles of putts he needed to make it happen. Not so in John Riegger's round today. Instead, it was 'business as usual' for this fine Ball striker. He's been hitting the Ball great lately but getting nothing out of it. Well, today he got something out of it. And that 'something' -- a 6-under par first round and a tie for 2nd in a 144-man field -- was exactly what he deserved.
Take a look at today's very impressive stats:
Driving Distance: 289.7 yards.
Longest drive: 301 yards.
Driving Accuracy: 85.7 percent.
In other words, LONG and STRAIGHT, with a Total Driving stat that ranks today's performance in the 93rd percentile.

Yes sir. That's a mighty fine day. A mighty fine day indeed.
This is really cool stuff. Wish I would have tuned in earlier today to get the blow by blow or should I say stroke by stroke. Talked to John last night and he really felt good. I can honestly say I expected that round today.
It was a really great day today. I had fellow Golf Machiners VJ Trollio, Mark Blackburn, Chris Wertz, Buzzy Brown,Beau Ketchum, and Tim Brown at my place for a talk G.O.L.F. session. As we learned from each other, our students John Reigger and Heath Slocum were playing well in Tuscon.
Congratulations! I think it wasn't but in the last week, that you said you had it "right there" and just needed to be patient-I guess you knew what you were talking about!
Thanks for taking the time to be a part of Lynn's forum, and looking forward to see you play your best in this tournament and beyond.
