How many people get turned off TGM by the abreviations-i.e. rft,TSP,rfp,.....etc.I think a lot of begginers could get totally confused

Based on responses to post by TGMers on other forums, you are probably right. Even the terms when spelled out can be confusing to those who have no or limited exposure based on responses in various threads.

I like having both the 'english' version and the terms, abbr. and references. Helps me learn and remember them better.

I think ur right....

Only the "hardcores" will delve deeper....(although I still can't completely agree with being COMPLETELY turned off...i.e. "well I'm just a feel player"....it happens tho....I don't get it but w/e maybe I'm different).

I always try to explain myself in normal terms so everyone can understand.....

Although sometimes it's too too too much easier to use TGM language....

Once you know it....you really can't avoid using it when it's an option.....it's just too efficient....

Very good point Neil. RFT is confusing and misleading. We're going to give new members the wrong impression. We should emphasize EA with RFT. I'm sure that everyone agrees that this clears things up a bit. We can't expect everyone, especially new members to grasp the connection. Change RFT to EARFT. That makes a big difference, IMHO. See 1-H.

A year and a half ago... I didn't now what the letters TGM meant. At that time, the TGM website still existed for posting and Chuck Evans was free. I went and started looking. When I ran into references to 7-3 or any other 'number' I realized I needed the book. I bought the book and read it as best I could. Then I went to see Ted when I realized it would be slow going just using the book and relying on websites.

All the while on other sites I read posts criticizing TGM language and references from people who I assume didn't buy the book and perhaps some who bought it and didn't spend much time reading it or maybe just couldn't understand it. In my experience, these are the same people who are prone to saying in school "who needs history..why do I care what happened" "I'm never going to need to learn how to divide, I have a friggin calculator" etc. etc.

The language of TGM allows one to communicate quickly and succinctly. Using a different approach will require MANY more words and very good writing skills. It still won't help those that complain because those that complain want to get better watching TV. I have several friends who have asked me how I've gotten better and continue to improve despite my rapidly advancing move into geezerville. I tell them. I've told them about TGM and I've told them about Ted (without reference to a book they might have to read).... the cringing is comical. The thought of driving 6 1/2 hrs. to see Ted is crazy to them. Reading a book that actually requires more study than reading is patently insane. Guess what .. they don't want to get better.

Sounds like almost anything in everday life to me... if it requires work, and you don't want to do the work.. criticize it.
Just my opinion...... and btw.. this hasn't come easy for me. I might understand about 1/3 of the book 1 1/2 yrs. after starting to read it and while I find I get closer to 'feeling' what I need in the golf swing I still go back and look at the video from my first lesson with Ted (I've seen Ted twice for 4 hrs.each time). I find something there I still haven't mastered everytime I am having ball striking problems. The difference is I don't complain about the book, the author or the teacher... the problem is always mine. If someone sincerely wants to learn about TGM and is willing to put in the effort there are enough resources available to learn and I think anyone can be helped. I can't say that about conventional teaching and I've seen ALOT of conventional teachers.
