3rd Edition in Paperback?
Hello........... I'm stepping out of the ranks of lurker with this post. During the past year and a half I've gone about collecting all 7 editions of TGM. My quest was completed a few weeks back when I finally obtained a 5th edition copy of TGM. One question though - my 3rd edition is a paperback- is this kosher? Any help would be appreciated.
Hats off to all involved with this site ... especially Yoda!

. . . and thanks for signing on with Lynn Blake Golf!

Congratulations on your completed collection. Very few have all seven editions.

Regarding your 3rd edition . . . Hang in there.

I have the hardback, courtesy of Bucket who nabbed it (somehow) and made it happen for me. Thanks, Bucket!

And who knows, Walker . . . maybe your paperback 3rd will prove to be the most elusive!

Until then, I suggest marking up that baby to your heart's content. That's what I've done with all mine, without apology, from the 1st to the 7th.

Old joke:
Mr. Rich has topped new ball after new ball into the lake.

Caddie: Mr. Rich, this time, let's use an old ball.

Mr. Rich: Gimme another, son. Let my heirs use the old balls!

How can I start collecting all 7 editions?
Guys,
Can some one put me on the right path to start collecting all 7 editions; I have the 7th edition and I went to the public library and they had the 6th edition and I purchased it when they had a used book sale. So where do I start my quest for the first five?

Amazon

Ebay

Used book stores

You can do a google search on used books and you'll get a bunch of different web based deals.

A third edition signed can run you $500 or more . . . be prepared for sticker shock.

Alibris.com, from time to time, has 4th and 5th editions. The search for earlier editions (1st - 3rd) has proven elusive, for me. A tip from Drewitgolf, contact the seller to make sure that the edition listed is actually the one they are selling. He says that sometimes a seller will use the same description, for a copy from a different edition. His experience is that the seller is not trying to mislead the buyer, but it is expedient to use a previous ad. You will save time, return shipping and disappointment by confirming that it is the edition you desire. Good Luck in your search

I have all 7 editions. They're in new condition and I never paid more than $35 for any one of them. In fact the 3rd edition was the last one I obtained and I paid the most for it, $35. It's unsigned though.

You have to be patient and be in the right place at the right time.

My technique for acquiring all 7 editions of TGM is not earth shattering: I just searched used book sites(alibris, abebook, bookfinder, powells, amazon etc..) for 1st thru 5th editions and just kept searching these sites until I found all editions.
One tip- edition of books are sometimes mislabelled - check the number of pages if provided. (1st/2nd contain 149 pages, 3rd contains 150 pages and 4th/5th contain 232 pages)
Best of luck!
