The Low Point is always opposite the Center of the Stroke. And per 1-F, the Left Shoulder is always that Center (unless the Right Elbow replaces it per 10-3-K).
OK...but should the low point with the driver occur prior to, at, or after impact? And is it the same as with the irons.
The Low Point has nothing to do with the Club you are using, except, of courseas it serves to extend the radius of the Left Arm. Whatever Club you areplaying -- driver, putter, mid-iron, whatever -- must comply with the BasicGeometry of the Stroke. And the Geometry of the Left Arm Stroke is that allStrokes are taken to Low Point. And that Low Point is always opposite the LeftShoulder (given the exceptions noted in my prior post).
So, the Low Point is the same for all clubs. As far as your question goes, whether Impact occurs before, coincident with or after Low Point is strictly afunction of where you play the Ball.
That said, except under special circumstances, Impact should always occurbefore Low Point, even when using the Driver. First of all, it's the way yourclubs are made.
Second, if you play the Ball down, which you should -- no preferred lies --then you need the downward blow for a clean pick-off (2-J-1).
Finally, and this is a neat little point, the Ball has to work harder to getoff the face of a club that is moving down than it does to get of the faceof a club that is moving up. Hence, more distance.
