Thanks for this great post, Jeff. It means a lot to me.
We've been together with Brian hittin' balls and talkin' golf at his home club, Golden Bear Club at Keene's Pointe, and also when you both played the AT&T Classic last year in Atlanta. Here's a photo from Brian's 10th that clearly shows the spirit of that relationship. Oh, and our designated driver, Ted Fort (that's fruit juice in his cup), has had his share of 'Brian time' as well. Thanks to both of you for your friendship and all you do for LBG.
In the spirit of honesty . . . . for all wondering . . . . The reason Ted's smile seems a bit contrived and nervous is . . . he was in fact slipping 5 biscuits and a handful of mini-corn dogs in his pocket at the time this photo was made . . . reference the hand. More forearm magic.
And boy them sure are some pretty menz. Y'all clean up good particularly Jeffy.
Got a text from Bill Castner offering his congratulations on Brian's victory. Known on this site as BCGolf, Bill is the newly-appointed Director of Instruction at the West Nine at the venerable Plainfield CC (NJ). It is a prestigious achievement for a PGA of America Master Professional, and we here at LBG are proud of him.
Here's a shot of Bill, me and Bucket at Brian's party . . . with Bucket wearing his normal expression!

If you'll look closely at this pic you'll notice a front end loading washer in the background . . . . the reason for my cheezee expression is I was trying to lay cover for Ted and Jeffy who were in the laundry room sniffing stuff in the dirty clothes hamper. My usual signal for trouble on the horizon is the patented Gomer Pyle "Hoootie hoooo". But this wasn't appropriate at this affair. So the signal was "if you see Bucket at the raw fish table . . . . abort mission!!!" I sir am a team player.

Wow Bucket, I thought you were like 80 years old! I guess this means you really exist if there's a photograph!

There are very few "appropriate moments" with Bucket, but this was one of them!
To be honest, I was convinced he was a cyborg super computer, programed by Golf Discount to spread shock and awe. Man. Back to the 911 conspiracy for me, I guess. I would have bet good money too.

That's a cardboard cut-out . . . plus BG's not real either . . . . no human is capable of beating a field by double. You're just fine atop the grassy knoll. But . . . WRASSLIN' IS REAL.
Dont fall for this misinformation people. Brian is real alright. But Heimi, er Bucket is a USGA robot, operative folks. His end game? To gets us all covering the arc of approach so we start reading Golf Magazines again. That photo of him/it with Brian proves it. Didnt work there, though did it, Mr Computer Head. Nice try! "5th edition", my aunt Fanny! Busted.
As for the grassy knoll............. phone company.
I've been out of the country for the past 2 weeks so I'm a bit late in writing this. Congratulations my friend! I'm very happy for Brian's amazing performnace this week and proud of your role in helping him with his swing.
Since we first met in 2004 I knew this was going to happen. I knew it, knew it, knew it! Very happy to see you getting recognition in the national media as well. I hope your phone lines are buring down!
