I think the A swing is intended for slicers - which is about 90 % of all golfers.

seems like good info until you start asking why or how

He says that if halfway down you have the shaft on the same plane as address(or even impact), which no one does! However if you do that and you release it that it is "geometrically impossible" to slice it! Right there you know he doesn't know what he is talking about! I guess if you use some vague general idea of what release means that you can put a puzzle together that says you would always arrive in an impact condition that wouldn't slice the ball. Guarantee his idea of release would make Daryl role over in his grave!

So if you take his advised grip via the hands and get the shaft on the same plane as the ideal impact shaft plane regardless of ball location?, or clubface alignment? or shaft length? or body position? that you won't slice it?

That the big problem is inconsistent backswings not allowing proper downswings? I'd accept bad backswings as half the problem - inconsistent? Don't think so - consistently bad - yes. Of course, many would think that they just need to be more consistent and not so much change their technique

All you have to do is ask a few questions and it just starts to crumble like a stale graham cracker!

Listen - most people would love this A swing - sounds good! and when I finish my book in 2017 all of those people would hate my book. have at it - just doesn't interest me. I'm sure David thinks that you have to keep it simple for most people - maybe - so for all the simple people - enjoy! But don't ask any questions unless you want the whole system to crumble. And if you do ask questions then get ready for more answers that sound pretty good yet have no basis in reality, so don't make an effort to identify them because they are not tied to reality but floating above it - unattached.

From earlier experience I know you have a lot of knowledge about the golf stroke. (I thought Leadbetter knew a thing or two as well..) It will interesting to see your book (like Daryl's videos).

1) I'm just in "critique mode" - seems to have a momentary interest for me - how else am I to use your posts - none for me. So you can critique someone and "they might still know a thing or two".
2) If one doesn't have a standard of precision then I guess any golf instruction for any particular person at any particular time could have value for someone - so no golf instruction is really bad. Or if you don't hold someone to some standard of precision then I guess you could give them carte blanche in regards to what they are saying - who are we to judge. or if you like pragmatism as a philosophical base then if it helps someone it must not be that bad.

However, in contrast if you hear someone say that it's geometrically impossible to slice from a certain shaft position combined with a proper release - well it's just laughable in regards to the lack of precision in the statement. If not - then it should be easy for those 90% of golfers to find that shaft position and then have David define what a proper release is and no more slicers. Could have said impossible to slice from a certain shaft location but I will say that adding "geometrically" gives it a little more official sounding statement - of course if you were precise then you would have added that word because there was another alternative and you wanted to differentiate it clearly - that's if you use words/concepts precisely - when you don't you can just throw in stuff to make it sound good - because you have no respect for precision concepts and that's probably part of my disdain for his statement beyond the specific use of it in that sentence.

Mike - thanks for your comments. It's a shame that the forum doesn't work like it did 4-5 years ago, then you would have got interesting answers from Yoda, OB Left, Daryl etc. I can't give that kind of respond.
