Machine at work
I have had the wonderful opportunity of working with Jim Renner for the past ten years (since he was a kid working in my bag room in the pro shop) and applying the concepts of TGM. Tomorrow Jim will be looking for a fourth straight professional victory. Three weeks ago he won the Cape Cod Open (67-69-73-209) follow by eleven shot victory in the Vermont State Open (62-62-69-193, seventeen under), before winning the Massachusetts State Open Championship (70-69-65-204, six under). His back-to-back 62’s in Vermont included a lost ball and a bogey on a par 5, otherwise he would have broken the course record. This week Jim goes for four in a row when he defends his title at the TD Banknorth Portland Open. As Homer said, the more precision in, the more precision out.

Best of Luck to Jim at the Portand (ME) Open. I have a lot of special memories of that tournament and Riverside GC. I was an assistant pro there, and hated leaving, but I've found a home in NM.
Riverside is a great municipal course and can yield to some low scoring, but can also punish you with some high #'s if not careful. A classic risk-reward challenge.

Congrats, Drew, on a job well done. Sounds like Jim is headed for the PGA TOUR!

Thanks for the kind words, Lynn. That is the goal. Unfortunately, the streak came to an end today when Jim finished tied for third in Portland (67-67-66-200, 13 under par) . The tournamnet was won by Jeff Curl (son of former PGA Tour player Rod Curl). Lord Byron can rest easy, for now.

No relation. But, Jim is working to be a member of the same clan, know as the membership of the PGA Tour.

Jim Renner is a fine player who is having a truly remarkable season (see Post #1 in this thread). He is the long-time student of Drew Chapman (Drewitgolf), head professional at Highland Country Club in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
Jim Burke is a PGA Professional (New England section) who also has worked with Drew. He is the men's golf coach at Harvard University http://www.gocrimson.com/ViewArticle...&ATCLID=530104 and this winter spent two days with Yoda at Orange County National in Orlando, Florida.
Great work, guys. Congratulations on your fine play!
