...for both postings. I had heard Venturi's comments before, but Jackie Burke's interview was a real treat. Great common sense thoughts from a guy who has "been there and done that". I couldn't help but think that his kind of wisdom is what is so sorely missing from America today, especially from inside the Beltway! If more Americans had Burke's "hustle", the Democrat party would be non-existent...

Had the pleasure of Champions Golf Club. Members have to have a handicap of 15 or better, or at least did a few years ago, in order to join. The club boasts of having the most single digit players in the country.
Jackie's office was is done all in rich warm wood and features framed photographs of Hogan, Demaret, Crosby and on and on. The room holds his life his history and his love for the game. A real treat to see. |
