I am only about a year into TGM, but I did attend the Alignment Golf workshop earlier this week in North Carolina (which was a wonderful experience and I recommend it for amateurs like me). I am trying to better understand the purpose or effect of clearing the right hip (12-3-0) as part of the top. Is the purpose of clearing of the right hip to allow for a straight line delivery path and a tight endless belt (like a figure skater who pulls in her arms)? Also, how far must the hip be cleared -- just a bump (like planting the left heel) or must greater hip turn occur?
