I dont know much about Bruce Lee but remember a movie where he entered a tall Temple and fought an expert of a particular discipline successively as he made his way up the many stairs. By the time he reached the top floor he had command of every discipline and was truly unbeatable. He had "morphed".

He had every way and yet it was a "no way" that was true mastery. Homers book doesnt support "one way" methods either I believe.

Sorry if I have misunderstood the movie.

PS If that is Claude then Butch or one of the boys might know of the subject matter being discussed there.

Game of Death. Should never have been released as it was. But that's another topic for another thread.

Doug Ford maybe? Lets confirm and then ask him about this.

Sawblade

I just checked a movie data base. Do you think it was an RKO Sportscope, black and white, 10 minutes long, entitled "Slammin' Sammy Snead".

That is the only likely thing I can see beside the normal credits for movies, tv shows etc.

Maybe, O.B., but I don't think so. Anybody else got an idea?

I'm still thinkin' Jackie Burke is a possibility (still nowhere near sure, though). He definitely was a member of the Ben Hogan In Crowd.

Jackie was a Texan, long Ben's friend and a Masters Champion. He also was a friend of Jimmy Demaret (Ben's 'best bud' on Tour) and his partner at Champions Golf Club in Houston.

Lynn,

I am almost certain that is Jackie Burke. I have seen many pics of him wearing his hat like that. He was also good friends with Hogan. I will ask him next time I go to Champions. But I would bet money it was him.

Merry Christmas

Thanks for the insight, Chris. And thanks for giving me Jackie's book It's Only A Game a couple of years back when I taught with you at the Rob Noel Golf Academy! You had just come back from a visit with him and had more than one tale to tell.

Merry Christmas to you and all the gang at Money Hill!

Thanks Rhythm

Please ask him and if he recalls the subject matter. Looks to be right forearm takeaway. The odd thing about this footage to me, is the absolutely astonished look on the fellow. You see it more in the video than the photos I posted. The gentlemen in the suit also waves his right forearm around in response.

Jack Burke having known Hogan for years at this point must have been hearing something for the first time, something that amazed him and hopefully something he'd like to share with us.

Im not really suggesting it is a secret or anything but it would be a really great piece of history to uncover.

Regards

Slammin" Sammy Snead.

RKO Sportscope. 1951. Ive emailed a request to Turner Entertainment inquiring into its availability. Hope they have it. We'll see.

Black and white, 10 minutes long, newsreel.

Anybody remember this? Dont know if this is what you saw, Sawblade.

Off the top of my head, my quess would be former PGA Champion Lionel Hebert with an outside chance of it being fellow Texan Rex Baxter, a top rank amateur in the 50's.
