By chance have you installed I.E. 8? There is a setting to clear history on exit that also clears cookies. There is also a setting for 'in private' browsing that doesn't store cookies/history.

Ben - for my 2 cents, I like the new setup very much, although I find the red a bit harsh for the unread posts/post reply button. Perhaps yellow?

Agree about the red; those buttons are the main graphics I was going to work on, but that task hasn't made it to the top of the queue yet :)

Do you mean delete temp internet files in IE?

Partially correct, yes. You wouldn't need to delete all your temporary files, but if you have a version of IE older than 8, you should see a "Delete Cookies" button when you go to tools->internet options. If you're using IE8, be sure to follow EdZ advice.

What browser are you using? There were some reports of this problem early on, but by all accounts except yours, it's been fixed.

Some screen resolutions and font size changes can make that happen. Have you adjusted your default font sizes?

Try changing your resolution for a test, over to something like 1024x768 and see if the issue is still there.

The layout and font sizes for the forum are fixed, so the browser font size control shouldn't change the text size, and even if he's using a lower resolution screen, he should have horizontal scroll bars to access the full text.

I figured he was talking about the issue we were having early on where the text on the right was being cut off with no scroll bars or way to access that text.

With the change I am getting a message, "Please enable Java Script in your browser" when trying to open this free video in the Gallery. Had no problem previously. Scripting is enabled in Explorer. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Is that the only video you're having trouble viewing?

If you are running Vista and this is a flash video, there is a permissions problem with one of the latest flash updates. I've seen it on a few systems recently.

From Adobe:

•Right-click C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil9d.exe
The letter changes with each Flash version, so may be "FlashUtilb.exe" or "FlashUtile.exe"
•Select "Run as Administrator"
•Follow the steps to complete the Flash Player installation
•Restart your computer

Hi Ben,

My green logo thing shortcut on my desktop has turned into a standard Internet Explorer icon thing. Did I do something or did this result in something you did?

Nothing I did, Daryl, at least not that I know of. All my LBG bookmarks are still the green, flying wedges icon.

I see Jeff is posting again. Now that he and Daryl have returned, we should have a new Poll: who will put up more posts thru the end of June: Jeff, Daryl or a player to be named later?

I probably have a setting like "disply icons as whatever" or something. I'll check later.

Thanks

Hmm? If anything it's going to be entertaining. But at the least; Jeff has me on ability. The guy can golf. He can really strike the ball. And he's a swinger. And great on and around the Greens.

There is a confused identity here.

Jeff Hull, our resident golfgnome, is a supreme talent and champion who plays in the Georgia PGA Section.

Jeff Mann, on the other hand, posts as Jeff. He is a retired physician of limited golfing ability who is avidly pursuing his hobby of discovering and explaining the mysteries of the golf swing.

Given Jeff Hull's prominence on this site and to prevent further confusion, we will change Jeff Mann's screen identity to JeffM.

I never claimed to be the brightest candle in the room. :laughing9

On 5-14-2009 at 2:11 pm, I was confused, :confused1 and my remarks reflected my memory of a Dinner conversation between Jeff H. and myself. As soon as Jeff (M) began posting, It was clear to me that Jeff (M) was not Jeff H. :)

A lot has happened during my year off.

O.B.Left 05-17-2009 11:47 AM

I had the pleasure of sitting between Daryl and Jeff Hull (Golfgnome) at that dinner. Bammer was there too, The Judge (Throw the book), Lynn, Bagger and party. A wonderful night with a U.S open trophy right over my head. Almost as over my head as the discussion of Hip Action. The Judge is still deliberating on that decision, I think. A very controversial and complex issue. Suffice it to say that Daryl has some real pretty hips for a guy.

Does anyone know why I can't open certain threads with Internet Explorer? I get the operation-aborted signal :( .

This is just further evidence of my prediction of the imminent demise of the computer :eyes: .

The Thread is entitled (by BTS):

How do I hit it further without swinging faster?

It does it on both of my computers, not just one.

Should be fixed there. The embedded movie was causing problems in IE.

I don't even know what IE is :eyes: . You are just way too Smart for me :salut: .

rprevost 06-01-2009 09:27 PM

I don't know if it is because of all the recent changes, but I am getting screens full of red arrows. They appear to be in the titles of posts but not the posts themselves. Has anyone had a similar problem? This just started. I use latest version of Firefox. It does not seem to happen when I use IE.

Thats great, I hope it won't change too much and will still be the home that us regulars love.

The channel on Youtube was a great idea.

I'm embedding LBG videos on the different forums I go on. Great stuff!
