Congratulations Ted and Wendy Fort!!
New Hitter Arrives in the Fort Household
ATLANTA, Georgia, June 30 -- He's here! Ted and Wendy Fort's new Hitter made his arrival last night at 9:57 PM. "He's a big dude," said Proud Papa Ted of their first child, "21 1/4 inches long and 7 pounds, 12 ounces." And all is well, with one exception: "Mama's doing fine. Baby's doing fine. Daddy feels like he's been hit by a truck!" Asked the name of the soon-to-be junior golf sensation, Ted replied, "We put Yoda on the birth certificate, but the nurses looked at us kind of funny, so we're still undecided." With Yoda on the line this early morning, a familiar sound filled the room: "Talk to Yoda," said Ted, "Tell him something." "WWWWHHHHAAANNNNNNHHHH!!!!! WWWWHHHHAAANNNNNNHHHHH!!!!!" |
Congratulations Ted ( and Wendy)--that's an experience that's better than ANYTHING in the world. Now the REAL fun starts! Perhaps "Mini Nuke" for his nickname?? Get some sleep--you'll need it. Trust me, I'm a doctor. Later. Good health to you and your family. Dr Dave

Ted and Wendy,
Congratulations!!! He's a lucky boy to be parented by such great people. Real sleep deprivation is familiar parents of newborns. Fortunately it's temporary but even so, I know you can "hit" in your sleep! Best Wishes, Bagger |
So- who knew??? :) :)
Congratulations to Ted and Wendy. Pick a good name- it's his first gift from the two of you. |
Congratulations!
how about "Homer"? |
Congrats, Ted !!!

Congratulations!
And a wish for health and happiness to your whole family.
If it takes a while to come up with a name you both agree on, so be it. I would not recommend taking a survey from this group!    |
Ted,
Congrats to you and Wendy. ldeit |
Congrats, Ted! Mine was born on the 23, and I'm sure you'll agree that it's the most awesome experience! Good luck, man!
P.S. I can definitely vouch for the fatigue! Wow!!!! |
Ted Fort III
Thanks everyone. It's been an awesome experience. Anyone that's been there knows it can't be put into words.
Homer, Yoda, Luke, the initials G.O.L.F(ort). were all considered. Wendy and I had two names picked, one of which was naming him after me and my dad. She wanted to see what he looked like before we decided. She told me later that she'd decided that if he truly looked like my clone, there'd be no doubt as to his name. He has dark hair, long legs, my feet, my hands, my nose, and there's no doubt he's a hitter. We're going to call him Trey as a nickname, so three people don't turn their heads when someone says "Ted!" I appreciate all of the encouragement. I've got a pic of his first golf lesson that I'll have to share with you. His first words were, "swinging's for sissies." No offense to you drag loaders... |
