Teachers Tournament
If the golf teachers of the world played a tournament... who would be among the leaders? Who would win? THIS IS FOR FUN ONLY!!!
I'll start-- Among the leaders-- Mac O'Grady, Stan Utley, Peter Croker, Greg McHatton, Jim McLean Winner-- Utley... because he plays the most on a high level |

They play a highly competitive PGA Club Professional Championship each year. Did you see the swing and performance of Mike Small, this year's winner? What a great swing. He is playing in the Western this week. My pick: I’ll go with Suzy Whaley over some of those old guys like Leadbetter. |
Some wonderful swings in the CPGA. Evidence that Homer's influence is strong.
I really like JC Andersen's swing. A very accurate motion. I'd love to see some clips/pics if anyone has any. I didn't catch more than a few minutes of this year, but I saw quite a few top notch patterns. I liked what I saw of Tim Thelen's motion too. The PGA should do a yearly summary of the tourney by posting the top 10 finisher's swings with analysis by a GSED listing their components  |
Bobby Schaeffer (Ben Doyle and McHatton understudy)would be competitive too.
|
Don't forget Mr. Smith
Rick Smith can play too.
|
I'll tell you what:
Let Mac or JC or any of those guys go teach at Different Strokes in Louisville and City Park in New Orleans for oh... three or four years or so (I've done 23), travel all the time, have q surgery a year and play one tournament or two all year and play about 20 rounds a year tops... ...then, let me at 'em. |

Ted Forte would be rather dangerous too.

Yoda Ted Fort also can play. paraphrase... sorry, accidentally erased part of message when editing """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" I hear that Yoda and Ted do indeed play well!!! I have seen them both hit on the range, and they can both smash the ball straight out there. |

Indeed, he hits the ball on a string with tremendous compression. Doesn't miss anything by much, and is a solid putter. Given practice time, he'd be a great pick. |

TGM Tournament
A TGM Tournament would be interesting also.
The field might include players like... Ben Doyle(Super Seniors Division), Brian Manzella, Yoda, Ron Gring, J.C. Anderson, Gerg Mc Hatton, Yoda's Luke, Steve Ferguson, George Kelnhofer(Seniors), Alex Sloan(Super Seniors), Phil Kelnhofer(Super Seniors), Clarence Moore( Super Seniors), Bobby Clampett, Steve Elkington, Mac O'Grady, Johnny Miller, Puggy Blackmon, Mike Holder, Larry Penley, Sally Little, and many others. |

If the goal is to get TGM out to the masses, seems like the lineup of players is the easy part. TV coverage is the barrier. I'm certain there are enough CEO's out there to pull together the funds to do this in exchange for lessons and advertising. A charity event perhaps, during the 'silly season' and I'd guess you can get some great names out to the: Homer Kelley Memorial Tournament |
That would be the ultimate ode to Mr Kelly. Count me in if it happens ALWAYS!!!!!!
Vikram. PS. Are all the persons listed above AI's of TGM?? |

I am too far away to make it happen. The only AI in India. You guys can do it in USA and I will be there. Whenever it happens.
Planning a trip to the USA for my GSEM. Also plan to meet up with Yoda and Yodasluke. Are you listening in Yoda?. Love to get it all in while i am there. Its half way around the world. Doing the GSEB was a blast. The best money I have ever spent. Need to spend some more GOOD MONEY!! Teaching after I got back to New Delhi in Feb 2005 after completing the GSEB was on a steady upward graph. Students just kept and keep coming in. Ametuers pros and kids. Hands full and flying high. Other pros keep asking- what on earth are you teaching man?????? Only if they knew. Need a breather and no better way to breathe than to learn more of TGM. Vikram |

Ditto on Sally Little being a very nice lady------sometime in the early 90's I took my wife and 9 year old daughter to an LPGA tournament. We were just hanging around the practice putting green when one of the golfers came over, picked up one of the balls she was using, signed it, and handed it to my daughter--it was Sally Little. We still have the ball in a display case. I still remember the smile and surprise on my daughter's face. Sometimes just little things make a big difference........Dr Dave

O'Grady
Very interesting thing in the newspaper today. With the PGA Tour in town this week, they had the Open Qualifier for the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee yesterday at a local course near me and the results were:
1st - Kevin Streelman, Winfield, IL 33 32 65 Qualified 2nd - Joseph Affrunti, Crystal Lake, IL 31 35 66 Qualified 2nd - Brian Payne, Flossmoor, IL 32 34 66 Qualified 4th - Gary March, Arlington Heights, IL 33 34 67 Qualified And way down near the end: 96th - Mac O'Grady, Palm Springs, CA 39 44 83  |

Righty or Lefty
Is Mac playing right or left handed now? At one time he could play very well from either side. He won both of his tour events from the right side.
I don't know why either... why he would shoot a score like that. At one time he was one of the best ball strikers around. |
