wedges, gyroscopes, and the aiming point
hi,
i am at this point halfway thru the yellow book, reading much on the forums and trying to synthesize and apply it to a swing...the following thoughts and images are in my head and i'd appreciate some feedback if i am on the right track, veering off, or just plain lost:-)...anyway, in playing around with wrist cock and bend with a club in my hands in front of me i noticed that the club shaft seems to rotate around the point where my two hands meet...if i grip the club correctly this is essentially PP#1 and it also seems to me to be the point at which the left and right flying wedges intersect...i have taken this point to be "central control" and been practicing placing it at impact fix such that it blocks my view of my lead big toe (as i look down at my hands)...i am using that point (my lead big toe) as my aiming point (i haven't been sure what that meant, figured i would get to it in the book at some point, but am using this for now) and working on bringing this point up the plane to the TOS and then back down with wedges and lag intact and "obliterating" my aiming point with my "central control" point...in slow mo/mirror work this also seems to have PP#3 "tracing the plane line"...it also seems to do well in the "garage range" unless i succumb to my old nemesis dropping the trail shoulder then bad things happen...thanks in advance for any imput! -hcw |

You're headin down the right track....The Left Arm Flying Wedge and the Right Arm Flying Wedge are "super-glued" together at the #1 Pressure Point... But the true command comes from the #3 Pressure Point(Lag Pressure Point - Intersection of the Visible Clubshaft Plane and the Invisible Sweetspot Plane - the pull of Centrifugal Force)....Hitting #1 and #3 driving the lever assemblies through impact...Swinging... Monitoring the lag and the drag pressure through the #3 Pressure Point. The uncocking of the left wristcock AT THE PLANE LINE through the #2 Pressure Point. Finally monitoring the Pivot and it's Pressure Point #4.. Others who are more authorized could probably do a better job of explainig than I!!!! You can your pick friends ... You can pick your nose... At the Plane Line means the "baseline of the Inclined Plane....Yes ...on the ground(Down & Out & Forward).... Do not release just Forward down the target line or you will be steering. Clue...It feels like for swinging a side ways 'KARATE CHOP' for Hitting it feels like you are directing the thrust at an aiming point either in front or aft of the ball depending on your intentions....Someone else might be able to describe it better!!!! Forgive me for not being very clear on my previous post. When one begins releasing #2 Accumulator with a Wrist Throw 10-20-E ...it uncocks to level then #3 Accumulator then swivels into Intended Impact Location. I am referring to the motion from cocked to level being a left hand karate chop of 10-20 -E Wrist throw...Please read it...This is what I mean by releasing Toward the Plane Line NOT down the Target Line...Big Difference!!! I wish I could demonstrate for you so that you could SEE what I'm trying to say, rather than trying to READ what I'm trying to say! For the left arm to be on-plane you would have to have the left wrist totally "uncocked" with #3 accumulator "zeroed out" with the clubshaft moving up into the cup of the right hand. I'm NOT recommending this during the Release Interval...This is the time and the place I'm referring to for the motion for cocked to level...Release Interval...From Impact to Follow-Through the wrist will move from level to uncocked to keep the clubhead moving down to low point after the impact point has been achieved...I am not an authorized expert on this subject matter...Master Yoda can probably give a much more clear and concise description than I. Instead, it rotates around the Sweet Spot and thereby alternates between its own original Plane and the Plane of the Sweetspot. So, embrace the Sweet Spot Plane and disregard the Clubshaft Plane. During the Downstroke, you do indeed Uncock and Roll while Tracing its Straight Line Baseline with your Right Forearm and Right Forefinger #3 Pressure Point (12-3 Sections 6 and 9/10/11). This is the correct application of the Third Imperative (2-0)...a link in the chain of destiny leading you to your best golf. |

It is the point that is either pulled, pushed - or both. It is the HANDS and what they do. Understand that point, and lag, and rotation and you've got it. Drive the FORCE DOWN into the ground in front of the ball. |

More Golden Nuggets. Great stuff on the plane line, sweetspot, target line and clubshaft. During my dowsnstroke, I am oscillating between sweetspot and clubshaft. Or the more likely scenario based on my feel remembrances, is I start out sensing the sweetspot during transition and startdown, lose PP#3 , and only sense a pull in the left hand and wrist, which I assume is my sensing the shaft. I get very lucky at impact, or am coming from outside in to compensate to avoid shanking. More good stuff to digest. |

The full length of the Club shaft remains unwaveringly on the face of this Inclined Plane--Waggle to Follow-through." i have no clue how to reconcile that to what yoda said...i thought i was doing ok, but i am not having a good time wrapping my mind around this one...another problem i have been having is that my 9th grade geometry keeps popping in and reminding me that a plane is defined by three non colinear points...i usually can define one, but am unclear on the other two, so have a hard time visualizing the planes (like in 10-6-A-D)...one last thing, does the Sweet Spot=Target Line Plane thing only work if your stance is square-square?...t-i-a! -hcw |

Breathe slowly....It' okay ....we've all been there and back.... Turn to 7-7 Paragraph 3 and start reading; Always view the plane as rectangular (with four nintey degree corners)... then return to 2-F after you've absorbed that entire paragraph....Okay... let's just start here and keep things warm....Incubate... Come back to it over and over again until that "chick" hatches ...hours, days weeks, months, years....each time it will become more and more ready to hatch... Hope the ship has steadied it's course!
