Go Spartans!

Heresy for a U of Mich fan you ask?

Well, I've been transplanted to Hoosier-land, and it's time for the great state of Michigan to lay Butt Whoopin' #2 on them Fightin' Irish!!

(Bagger, I haven't been able to bring myself to put my Texas shirt back on ever since they got beat by that team to my east. :crybaby:)

Bam,

:naughty: This Irish Catholic Hoosier thinks that Notre Dame will be so pi$ at the state of Michigan as a whole, that Michigan State will get beat, not bad, but I think they are going down....

Tell me you're at least a Colts fan?

bambam 09-22-2006 05:23 PM

hmmm...I'm not so sure. That was a beating last week, and Brady Quinn is going to have to show some mental toughness to overcome the turnover problems. I think it'll be a decent game, although as far as I'm concerned it's not much better than last year's ND vs. OSU bowl ;-)

I'm a Lions fan for life, but I love the Colts, too. Honestly, I'll probably never have to choose between them in my lifetime. Only one of them is going to a super bowl anytime soon!

I graduated from Michigan in 1965 and was VERY happy with last week's game.

you just gotta love BOTH, ND VS Michigan and ND vs Michigan St.
pretty cool every year, always great theatre...

we do have a killer weekend set up here, ND v. Michigan St., the Ryder Cup (lets hope for the best), NFL Sunday, and hopefully a break from the rain to get in 18:happy3:

enjoy ....

Bam, the Lions were always a sentimental favorite of mine before the Colts kinda of "rolled" into town in '84.

you had to love Speilman and Sanders, too bad those teams didnt break through....

later

Definately a great golf and football weekend. I always love the ND / UM game! Been getting a lot of flapping gums from my buddies all summer, so the game couldn't have gone any better

The Lions are kinda like the Cubs. We used to go to the Thanksgiving game every year - a tradition I miss. Even during the Barry years, they never had super bowl potential; I've learned to live with it and hope they can turn it around. Some good things this year, but they still have a long way to go.

I'm a Lions fan too, especially of the teams that had Barry and Speilman. Even though it had a good year, I think the Run n Shoot offense held us back. By the way, I agree with Emmitt Smith; Barry was the best ever!

No doubt! Can you imagine how many yards Sanders would have racked up if he ran behind the Cowboy's offensive line back then?!

It wouldn't have been fair. Remember the Jordan Rules in the NBA? Somebody would have implemented the Barry Rules:laughing9

Bam, as I said last night, always great theatre. helluva game but the Irish got lucky, or maybe just woke up with enough time to do something....take care

bambam 09-24-2006 09:03 AM

Yep, good game...glad I'm a Maize and Blue fan instead of the green and white. Looked like MSU's defense ran out of gas in the fourth.

Lee Dietrick, LBG Professional Contributor, may like his Michigan football, but he loves his Michagan wrestling! :rambo:

Lee entered college as Pennsylvania State High School Champion (133 pounds) with a sparkling 22-0-0 record his senior year. At the University of Michigan, he was a Big Ten Champion and All-American (at 147 pounds). After college he was a NAAU Champion in Freestyle and NAAU 3rd place in Greco Roman (at 163 pounds). Later, in ten years as a Head Coach, his record was 113-30-2. Along the way, he coached five inividual State Champions and 12 other state place winners. In 1969, he was selected Coach-Trainer of the USA Junior World Wrestling Championship Team.

I can personally attest that the same drive, determination and pursuit of effective technique that took Lee to the top of collegiate wrestling are present today in his approach to teaching Golf. I've been privileged to spend a lot of TGM time with him, the last in our three-day LBG Academy at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club. He is both a terrific guy and a terrific teacher.

Check out his credentials on our Pro Contributors page, and if you live or are traveling anywhere near him, you owe it to yourself to get a lesson from one of the best.

Thanks, Lee, for your service on the LBG Team. We're proud to have you aboard! :salut:

Wow, Lee. I knew you wrestled for UofM, but didn't know all of that! cool stuff! I bet you enjoyed the football results this week, too :)

Lynn,

I've been away from the forum for a few days and just saw this post. I'm humbled by your kind words.

I truly believe my wrestling and coaching have helped me as a Golf Instructor communicate with those in front of me.

Thanks,

Lee
