Where is everybody?

With 9196 members the forum is rather quiet. Only 1-5 members at any given moment - very seldom over 8-10. Isn't that a little strange? There must be a lot of sleeping/passive members!?

There are a lot more guests here - normally between 130 and 160.
But very few members.... (not only today, but actually all the time..)
Maybe they are watching videos instead of being on the forum? Or ...

How many websites with the word "Golf"? Google search the word "Golf" and the results are 1,680,000,000 (ya, 6 zeros). Yahoo = 730,000 results, Bing = 745,000 results.

Amazing. I bet every teacher on the planet has his own website. That's abusive. :laughing9 A lot of voodoo in the Golf world.

I must confess I log on at least five times a day. I need to get a life or spring needs to spring!

JerryG 02-12-2012 01:06 AM

I'm with you Taffy. I'm afraid I'm a gleaner and not much of a contributor.

Maybe there are not enough questions asked? Without anything to answer about, there is not so much to contribute with? It feels like the forum is in a hibernation period?

Golf is in decline and it's generally agreed that the statistically projected 1% growth over the next decade is far below the growth seen in the last half century. But I think 1% is overly optimistic.

We're "Doomed". I expect a significant decline over the next three decades. :shaking:

Taffy 02-14-2012 09:22 AM

Traffic at the other forums-most anyway- seems to be down and golfwrx appears to be alot of repeated topics that appear in cycles. Golf is not growing- it takes too long and has the reputation of being expensive and exclusive (anymore this is not the case IMO). I sure am glad I don't own a golf course.

On a postive note - tell us something about how you are planning to make several videos with G.O.L.F content. Are you going to show them here - or are you planning to sell them?

No charge.

I'll upload them to LBG.com for exclusive viewing on this website. The videos demonstrate and examine key TGM concepts. They wouldn't be of interest to non-TGM golfing students.

Sounds good. The future isn't all bad...

I've been trying to stir interest into G.O.L.F. down here, not having much success... I've not been able to play much lately due to the weather and too much work to keep a fresh mind for G.O.L.F. reading in the evening. Kind of small golf depression.

JerryG 02-17-2012 05:38 PM

Looked like nearly everybody was at the dome today. Not much G.O.L.F. on the premises, however. I saw more throwaway than in a trash can. That used to be me not long ago.

Since there isn't much else going on here, why not take the opportunity to explain what steps/alignments you took to go from trash to gold.

Air,
It took close to at least three years. Maybe longer. It was very slow at first, some push from Kev Carter, a wondrous day with Yoda that was like the sun breaking through the clouds. Then working on it with Kevin over a long time and improvement coming in rather small increments. I've worn out a net in the dungeon with mostly just basic motion
Basic motion allows isolation of so many concepts. I did find there is no magic other than what is described so thoughtfully in the Yellow Book and considered so thoroughly here on Yoda's web site with the contributions of so many selfless people.
For the first time in many years I was the receiver last season rather than the payer. The slobs not only quit sending the limo to pick me up, they kept the tee times a secret. I cannot wait for this season to begin.

Well deserved.

The situation is even worse now.
9198 members, but they are hardly ever present. And the number of guests has gone down from around 150 to 100 at any given moment. I wonder why? Probably tired of readying mostly copies of older posts? We need more new posts (and answers)

Air,

Gold is gold. It matters little the newest mine from which it was extracted or the oldest tomb from which it was unearthed. Let me assure you that Pharoah is alive and well and eagerly awaiting your arrival at Cuscowilla this coming 12th. 😃

My own situation is simply unsettled. New position at a new school with a second divorce (which is 2 more than I ever wanted), lots of overtime with a computer club that is well-attended and lots of activities to build my resume in case the school district gets obliterated by their own lack of sense.

But it's been a soft winter and I have had a year to meditate on the many wonderful things Lynn showed me. I feel some writing coming on!:occasion:

And, I feel the call of Minnesota!:sleigh: Perhaps, even a trip to Darylnois!

Spring is in the Air - even here in Norway.
Looking forward to it. And the cart with a yellow flag?
See you on Tuesday 13th at 10 o'clock - already have been warming up an hour or so..

Yes, Air, the cart will be there. The flag may be yellow or it may be blue. Either way, you'll have a personal chariot for your use during your week with us!
