Letting the arms drop

From the top of the swing is it cool to to make a simultaneous move where I hip bump to the left and just let my arms drop? Im catching this drop with my pivot at the bottom. This move seems to help w/ coming OTT and casting.

Brian has a clip on Youtube where he callls this "catching the drop" Does TGM hava classification for starting the downswing this way? As long as Im monitoring my hands, is this a consistent way to start the downswing motion?

It seems like when I drive my right shoulder down plane, even when Im tracing the the incline plane, I either come OTT or cast. Where as this move seems to keep my right shoulder from crossing the plane on the D/S.

Thanks guys....

David Lee's Gravity Golf teaches a move similar to what you describe. TGM has something that has some of this... Downstroke Loading, or Float Loading.

Roundhousing - a right hip collision.

When you are dropping your arms, you are able to clear your right hip and get the right shoulder down plane better, before the right hip gets in your way.

A good step along the way to getting the machine in the proper Rhythm.

Sounds like Harvey Pennick's Magic Move, which works very well, b-t-w.

Come to think of it, I don't think he himself ever referred to it by that name.

EdZ cool, I'll keep working on that then. Im also experimenting with hitting too. Unsure which to persue since Ive had some good days using both.

Loren,
Harvey said to replant the heel and bring the elbow to the side at the same time. I know this is right but I have hard time doing those 2 things at the same time because I dont lift my left heel.
