Basic hitting question/breakthrough

I have taken a little time away from TGM discussions to clear my head and may have had a breakthrough tonight. When talking about a hitting motion, do you straighten the right arm into followthru? For some reason, for quite a while I was straightening my right arm into impact. All of a sudden it hit me that this may not be right. So, which is it? Impact or follow through?

IMHO

The Right Arm begins to straighten at Release,
Continues to straighten as it Uncocks the Left Wrist,
Continues straightening passed Low Point,
And stops when it becomes fully straight,
When your Arms and Shoulders form a Triangle once again.

Follow-Through

You want the Both Arms Straight Position to happen two feet past the ball at Follow-Through. You wouldn't want the Right Arm straight when hitting someone or something. You would want it straight past them, so the potential energy wouldn't be exhausted.

Both Arms Straight is compression

Luke you said once that Follow Through, Both Arms Straight was in your opinion another Essential (or some such thing). It made quite an impression on me. Getting there for little chip shots (which Ive been hitting for decades) made the ball compress like never before, a "what the....." moment for me. Phil does it nicely too for wedge shots. Im trying to get it into all my shots. "#1 is always Driving". Save some right arm for the ball. The Right Shoulder plays a huge part , axis tilt etc.

Luke Im wondering why it works? I get the thrusting through the ball part but there's something else there I think? Something Geometric maybe. Is it the clubhead orbit? Thrusting all the way down? Thrusting towards the plane line post low point? Its a 1-L thing I bet. I didnt know you could compress those little shots like that.

It does complete the orbit. If the Right Arm fails to straighten, it can lead to a bent Left Arm and/or a Bent Left Wrist. The proverbial 'triangle' is not a triangle until two feet past the ball. Impact is a destination for most, resulting in a loss of compression.

Thanks all, why does it take so long to understand some things?
