I'm gradually starting to resolve a problem with a slight over the top move on the downstroke. My irons are going ok but the woods are killing me - mostly very low and left - a result of getting stuck and coming OTT.
I know what i need to work on to resolve this and i'm slowly getting there with the help of flashlight and dowel drills.
But.. I have a few work ambrose day's coming up on Thursday and Monday and i'd like to be able to get off the tee. Are there any short term fixes i could try just to get me past these next couple of rounds? just need something to patch me up while i take time to work on the other stuff.. i know people will say fix the pivot but it ain't going to happen in the next 5 days!!
Thanks!
Yodaluke had a great little thought in a recent post...picture that you are drawing the number 7 on a wall to your right with your right shoulder as you make your pivot back and shoulder turn down the plane line to the inside back of the ball. This was a great key for me on my last round on all my swings especially with my Driver. I also combined that pivot thought with a right forearm pickup on the backswing which I think gave the club its upward component while the pivot turn brought it in, placing the hands in a good position to drive down and out to the ball in line with the downward (and outward) right shoulder turn. I also at address placed the ball a little more toward the toe of the Driver face since I am aiming to strike the ball more on the inside back. I think the number 7 swing thought made alot of other things happen correctly-fuller pivot turn on the backswing with a steady head, and a steeper right shoulder turn on the downswing preventing the OTT move. The hips may know to slide a little before turning to tilt the spine to allow the right shoulder to move more downward. I'm only a novice here so others more knowledgeable may be more helpful.
