Harvey Penick said, "Take dead aim." Once you've done a fair amount of construction on your own Golfing Machine -- and when you are not employing the Crash Translation Procedure of 3-C (wherein Accuracy takes a back seat to the Procedure being integrated into your Total Motion) -- you'll begin to set a new standard for accuracy on the Practice Tee.
With your long game -- even Drivers -- you'll be attempting to actually hit your target -- the Flagstick (or other marker). When you do, you credit yourself with one Pole-ie. You get the same Pole-ie Credits in the Short Game area -- but now you have the opportunity to actually hole the Shot. When you do -- and you will! -- you credit yourself with one Hole-ie. One Hole-ie Credit is worth three Pole-ie Credits. Pole-ies and Hole-ies are credited only for Shots from off the Green. In other words, Putts don't count. You'll need another score-keeping standard for those puppies, and if anyone has any ideas, please post them!
Once you get your first Pole-ie or Hole-ie, the Game is on! Every session will be an attempt to establish your new PB (Personal Best). In our Short Game area we have markers at 62 and 78 yards. Early last summer, in an extended session that involved five 150-Ball 'round trips' -- hit and pick-up -- I established my own PB: Three Hole-ies and two Pole-ies, a total of eleven Pole-ie Credits. That was a red-letter day, and I haven't beat it since...
But I go after it every time!

How many points do we give Charles Howell for his shot that hits the bottom of the stick, into the hole, pops out rolls of the green into the water!!?? The ultimate hole-ie/pole-ie!

How about hole-ie/pole-ie/H2O-lie? He deserves credit for still making a par.

I've had one similar..... but in my case it hit the stick, bent it back and the ball was 'slung' by the flagstick into the water 15 yards away, nearly straight back - on the fly. Had to have hit the stick pretty square (from 190, par 3).

It was a chip in bogey....none the less still good that he didn't let it bring him down.

6 'pole-ies' today at 130 yrds out of a large bucket
well one was about 110, the only real 'pole' on the range, light post - 'ding' first shot, the rest were flagsick at 130 with a 1/2 swing 8 iron, working on punch shots and trajectory/ball control. Getting much more control as I get used to a hitter's motion.
90% on the green w/ right/left margin at about 5 yards max. Misses were only when I was experimenting at the extremes of working the ball
Does anyone have shotlink data about the size of the 'circle' for a tour player at 130?
Now the challenge of taking that to the course! It sure is fun to have that much control, its been a while since I had that solid a range session.
Thanks for helping me get more into 'hitting' those shots Lynn, much more trajectory control than swinging for those shorter shots.

Wow, Ed...a collective LBG 'hats off' for this outstanding achievement. That's a red-letter day and a tPB that will be hard to beat!

A near perfect sunny day today, had to get out to the range for lunch...
4 pole-ies, and one 100 yard marker dead center of the middle 0 (1 probable hole-ie, hard to tell for sure on the range) but still, not quite my previous best. I don't know if I'll beat that one. Today was much, much calmer than my personal best was. All from 135.
Looking forward to getting out to play in Orlando with Master Yoda in a couple weeks!
