Because you hit the ball prior to low point, the ball must be struck down and OUT... Try having more 'out' to the stroke which might only be slight with the driver due to the balls positioning being pretty close to low point.

Most people when they try to hit the ball, they try and hit directly at the back of the ball, which seems logical until you think about the geometry of the circle a bit, when they should be thinking about hitting the inside quadrant. If you can mentally draw a line from impact point to low point, you have your angle of approach... try and strike the ball in this direction....

Yep with you on all that, i can do it ok on the irons but a bit of a subconcious block at the moment with the woods - ok on the range but yet to transfer it to the course. It will come with time and more practice. Just trying to work out if it's just not happening on the course on the day how to 'band aid' to get you through the round.
