K. J. Choi and
David Toms are Hitters who have been taught to take their Backstroke to the
Swinger's End (Hands well above Right Shoulder with the Clubshaft approaching Horizontal). In their respective videos, instead of 're-tracing' and Drag Loading (10-19-C) -- the Swinger's procedure -- each is simply establishing those alignments most compatible with their true Hitter's Pattern (and with which they are most comfortable).
In other words, they are returning to the
Hitter's Top -- Hands Right Shoulder High and On Plane -- with a minimum of #2 Accumulator (Left Wristcock) Lag. Pause each video at this point and you will see the classic Hitter's alignments, including the 'high clubshaft' pointing skyward. [A comparison of these 'swings' at this point with the
Ted Fort's Top would be instructive. Help,
hg!]
From here, each player begins his Hitter's
Drive Load (10-19-A) toward the Ball; his Hitter's
Random Sweep Release (Automatic / 10-24-C); and his Hitter's
Angled Hinge Action (10-10-C) through Impact and Follow-Through.
