At least I'm starting to see where our disagreement is coming from- so that's good news - and therefore I know where I- "we" need to "dig" on this one.

I'll post later when I have more time but if you read my first post on this thread- I mentioned the theortical ideal and why from player to player you may not see something given compensations etc. - I did that A) because I don't think the answer lies in looking at players given that and B) so that somone wouldn't throw up some sequence and say "What about this?"- so I thought I had covered that in my post but then you start putting up swing sequences like a mad man!

The good news is I understand your perspective - I'll be back at ya! As usual for me the goal is to learn- I'm not worried about "winning" - and your perspective has some merit so this could be good for me to learn something new.

I want to post how I see our differences and the issues involved in understanding them but I'll do that later. For now, my mind works like this- one avenue to understanding this is to try to limit the variables- much like they do in a science experiment- so instead of comparing golfers to golfers- if we look at one particular golfer- and run with this idea of the relationship between plane angle/hand location and hip slide- then based on what you said, a steeper plane i.e. shorter clubs say a 9 iron would have more hip slide than the same player with a flatter swing i.e. a 4 iron- of course assuming no other variables such as effort and length of swing- etc. Some food for thought.

So answer me this . . . what makes the club come OUT? What makes the club stay IN and BACK? What makes the club move DOWN? What makes the club stay HIGH?

Why do you think a flat plane requires more SLIDE? . . . What does slide make the club do?
