So what I was trying to figure out was if the linear motion of the right arm prevents or at least restrains the roll, thus producing angled hinging and if nothing else preventing impressive hooks! I was barking up the wrong tree it seems!

That is interesting. I just don't know if you can say the linear motion restrains the roll, or if it just produces a different roll. Per the book, I know you can say the linear motion encourages angled hinging. I'd lean toward saying the linear motion just produces different roll, instead of retraining a different type of roll.
