A terror attack and a massacre on the same day (Friday Juli 22) with 77 killed and many injured have put the whole nation in shock and mourning. I actually know one of the teenagers (and her family) who was shot down and killed. This is our 9/11.
Golf doesn't seem so important for the time being.
..and I'm sorry to say that the lack of moral support here on the LBG forum doesn't help in this situation...

Air, I am sure we are all still in shock. I cannot imagine the trauma this must be causing in your nation. This sick act is unfathomable.
My sympathies to you and your country men and women.

Air, I'm certainly guilty in that.. It's all over the news here, but yet it seems unreal as if the mind just can't imagine one could conceive mass murder. A tragedy for Norway and for the families. I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm not among those hardest hit in any way, but I share with the entire Norwegian nation the feeling of shock, sorrow and togetherness. It's good to hear that other people - from all over the world - stop to think about what has happended and the loss and tragedy it represents.
I'll try to continue from where I stopped last Friday.. in a few days...

Air, my good friend,
I want to apologize for the seeming lack of caring...
When I come to this forum, I forget where all my friends are from, and just think of us as one little community. It didn't even dawn on me, as I'm certain the same with the others, that we had friends who were so closely affected. Please know that you were not slighted on purpose, and I'm sure everyone feels the same embarrassment as I that we didn't support you.
I remember how we all felt after 911, this must be very much the same for you. The pictures released today of many of the murdered teenagers brought tears to my eyes, I'm sure it did the same to every one else who saw them.
Kind regards my brother,
Kevin

The images are heartbraking to say the least and while such horrific crimes are terrible wherever they occur, it is a shock that a peaceful, democratic country that should be a beacon to the world had something like this happen. Peace to you Air. While golf seems trivial at such a time, it can also be healing. I always think we would have a great world if everyone played golf. Handicaps make everyone competitive, it is a game of integrity and self-rule, it teaches courtesy and you always have time to get to know someone better. I think basic motion means a lot more than a flat left wrist. Peace to our friends in Norway.
