I just, in the last couple days, started tinkering with hitting. When I hit small chip/pitch/punch (can you hit and still pitch?) shots, my ball striking is awesome. I'm compressing the ball more than I ever have on those shots, and my ball striking is really consistent. However, I started hitting some full shots today and my results weren't as good. My short/mid irons were okay - I hit some *great*, but more often than not I was fighting my divots pointing well left of my target line. Also, when I got to my driver, the ball was really flying off to the right. I hit a few decent ones but, for the most part, I'm really slicing it bad. I suspect that I'm "switting". Perhaps my pivot is moving too fast? Like I said, the short chip/pitch/punch shots are great, but as soon as I take a full swing at it, my divots (and ball flight with the driver) say that I'm coming over the top.
With all of that said, the good shots that I did hit gave me enough of a glimpse of what I might be able to do that I'm going to continue down this road for a while and see where it leads.
