Hello All - 1st post from a complete TGM novice.
I've been lurking with great interest and I must say "Thank you" to everyone involved in the Forum; What a great source of information!
Don't have the "Book" just yet, so I don't know if this is covered in it, but I haven't seen any threads on Uneven & Sidehill lies - how to deal with them.
I would like to know what kind of adjustments in the stroke and setup, are needed in playing these shots as I have a great deal of trouble with them.
Are there any differences when Hitting or Swinging?
I'll get the ball rolling. A key for me is making sure that my clubface is "looking" where it needs to look when I set my impact alignments. When the ball is above your feet, due to the "flattening" of the plane the clubface will point further left, especially with the short irons. When the ball is below your feet there is a "steepening" effect and consequently the face will point further right (I find this shot significantly easier to play due to hook-face nature of golf clubs) Golf clubs are camber-soled which means you can set up and use multiple planes without the heel or the toe of the club digging. Hope that is a good start to answering your question.
PS Welcome to the best site in G.O.L.F as well as GOLF
Thanks Okie
On severe slopes - do I still need to pivot or should I keep my body quiet and make more of an arms swing. I find I am always off balance when making these strokes, especially the 'ball below feet'lie.
BTW - I've been on the forum for a few months now and realise just how bad my swing was. After reading a lot of previous posts and going through Basic and Acquired Motion, already my swing has seen significant improvement - life is good again!
