Thrust/Velocity

[6-M-1 DOWNSTROKE SEQUENCE The Downstroke sequence of the Stroke Components is dictated essentially by Centrifugal Force; acceleration of a lagging Component will cease at the instant it achieves an “In-Line” position with its immediately preceding Component.
Centers and Accumulators can be sequenced, overlapped, omitted, emphasized, triggered and timed as the players understanding and skill permit. But the Club’s Swing Radius (6-B-0) ends at the “non-lagging” Component nearest to the Clubhead. The “Centers” of the Stroke start with the Feet or the employed Component nearest to the feet in the following order: Knees, Hips, Shoulders, arms, Right Elbow, Left Wristcock and/or Left Hand Rotation. For maximum Power, the position of must be taken with that will allow Delay of the Release until all Components, except the Right Foot and Right Shoulder, have reached, or passed, the Line-of Site-to-the-Ball per 6-B-1-C. Then the Accumulators must move very rapidly toward their “In-Line” Position. But none should actually arrive (lose all their Lag and Drag) until well after Impact. Also see 6-H-0.
Power Accumulator Release sequence is #4, #1, #2, #3 – regardless of which ones are being employed. Any Accumulator number may overlap or replace its preceding number but cannot precede it. Increase Overlap to increase Thrust – decrease Overlap to increase Velocity.

Power Package Thrust/Velocity Variations
3 Barrel Swinger Release Sequence: #4, #2, #3
#4 and #2
Controls Overlap: Amount of #4 Release Travel before Left Wrist Uncock
Maximum Thrust: Sweep Release
Maximum Velocity: Snap Release
Variations: Random Sweep Release
#2 and #3
Controls Overlap: Amount of Wrist-Uncock before the #3 Roll begins
Maximum Thrust: Standard Wrist Action
Maximum Velocity: Double Wrist Action
Variations: Vary Amount of Left Wrist Bend

Man, a lot of great stuff in that little section... 6-M-1...
I need to go study some Double Wrist Action, drawing a blank on that one...
Thanks Daryl, some great material for study!

Daryl,
What do you mean by maximum thrust?
Do you refer to the total thrust work or the max thrust force somewhere in the down swing?
I think you get max thrust force with a rather late random sweep release - if you time it such that the overtaking / release of accumulator #3 happens in the place of the down stroke where you have the most drive loading power - the place where you can really lean on the shaft - and that would probably while you still have the majority of the ground force throught the right foot and when the hands are in the region under the right shoulder.
I'm only speculation here so I may be wrong.

When Releasing the Accumulators, the more that the Accumulators "Overlap", the greater the Mass.
Would it help if I said that when Uncocking a Flat Left Wrist, the #3 Accumulator Roll follows immediately and the Left Wrist will be Level at Impact. Total overlap, maximum Thrust. However, if you Double Cock your Left Wrist, then the Left Wrist will Fully Uncock prior to the Start of the #3 Accumulator Roll. Using a Double Wrist Cock, the Left Wrist is Fully Uncocked (and Flat) at Impact. No overlap, maximum Velocity.

I was reading this section last night, D with mirror and club. This section help me finally realize how many "little machines" comprise our personal golfing machine.
It was as if HK saw our skeleton as a series of gears and pulleys. I think I could summarize this section by saying that a smoother, slower action of the machine logically demands more overlap of the gears and maximum mass or Hitting/Switting and that short, staccato gear movements in proper sequence logically build up maximum speed for the Swinger/Switter.
I appreciated so much your remarks in noting how the # 3 Accumulator must be assisted by the # 3 PP on the downswing so that you have two smaller machines helping and magnifying each other.
Likewise, OB's comments on "Throwing the wrist," helped me realize in reading last night that the machines must be consciously trained and precisely aligned for maximum golfing effectiveness.
Thanks.

I think the overtaking rate is the deceisive factor here. Greater overtaking equals more leverage and you get a high thrust / low speed sitiation which is perfect for maximising your strength.
