Soon there may be an infomercial selling them promising perfect alignment. They'll have notches and scales on them so you can fit them together in different ways depending whether you have an uphill or downhill lie. Someone will have one fitted with shoulder straps or a belt to go around your waist in case you're unsure if your lie is uphill or downhill. Hmm? Someone will have a curved dowel used for fades and draws. Maybe one with a pointed end to stick in the ground. Or, one with an arrow painted on to remind you of the direction you're trying to hit the ball because it's easy to forget during the five minute setup and address ritual.

And, if you lose a match to your buddies, you can still beat them with the dowels. And hey, they make perfect gifts.
