When does the Hitter employ his Right Arm Thrust? It depends upon the Release employed.
Obviously, the Release is earlier with the Sweep Releases (10-24-A/B/C). For Maximum Power (6-B-1-A) and Maximum Trigger Delay (6-B-1-C), the Release is Delayed until the Right Elbow passes the
Line of Sight to the Ball.
Lee Trevino spoke of this Delay in terms of a string he imagined attached to the Ball on one end and his chin on the other. On the Downstroke, when his Hands 'broke the string,' the Right Arm fired --
automatically.
