but after 7 years, like a bolt of electricity, I finally understand hinge action. For years, I've been confusing hinge action with swiveling. I've struggled with my natural hitters motion, because I have unknowingly continued to confuse horizontal and angled hinging.
For the first time in my life, I was actually able to control my ball flight through hinge action.
Now the next step is gaining a better understanding of wrist/hand actions /swivel work with different hinge actions.
I had the pleasure of attending a 3 day class with Yoda and Yodasluke three years ago and i'm still learning and incubating to this day. It is a great thing to have the seeds of knowledge and understanding being planted by the masters and giving us the tools to uncover them and truly understand what we are doing without running to the nearest instructor or pattern of the moment...TGM for life
It's amazing, I conceptually understood no-roll, partial roll, and full roll, but I never got how it really applied to the shoulder, therefore when I tried an angled hinge action, it really was stopping or holding off on a horizontal hinge.
Now I can actually work towards an angled hinge as opposed to against a horizontal hinge.
