Interesting question, there 300Drive. I can see how you'd wonder about RFT in putting.

In my last lesson with Yoda we spent some time on the green. He advises thinking of putting in terms of the Zone being employed and sticking to one Zone only for the stroke. No blending. Zone 1, the pivot or for putting traditionally the pure shoulder only stroke, swinging. Most everyone on tour these days. Zone 2 , the arms only. Traditionally, the right arm extending actively to both arms straight, Hitting. Dave Stockton, style. Zone 3 , hands only putting like Arnie in the 60's, not so popular anymore. There are less traditional methods of course and to each his own. Neither Homer nor Lynn would ever recommend "one way". So do experiment but realize that you compromise consistency and simplicity when employing more than one Zone or Power Source for such a precise and lightly powered bit of business.

So Id say that you'd most likely want to "rock the baby" in both directions, with no added arm power in either direction for the pure shoulder stroke. Although I must add that the RFT then shoulder powered downstroke is far less hazardous than the common "rock and extend", Zone 1 and 2 combined.

Swingers freeze their right elbow, Hitters freeze their shoulders, Arnie froze his knees (joking).
