Could I suggest that you adopt a start up position but WITHOUT a club in your hands, just let your arms hang naturally and see where the inside of your elbows are anatomically meant to be.
Strangely enough that's pretty much how my arms naturally hang, i don't feel any extra tension in them at all.
The thing i do fight though is not getting the right forearm on plane and right arm bent enough at setup. If i do it correctly then it feels like i'm just standing waaayyy too close to the ball....
