Ok ok, I'm not trying to be pompous. Just giving credit where it's due, and my efforts to apply TGM concepts have gone a long way in improving my ball-striking and consistency. That's why I like TGM and this forum, it's not about the same old instruction that's ALL geared to the high handicaps and how to fix a %$&# slice!
I've messed around with hitting for the 130 yards and in shots but wasn't sure how good an idea it was to flip flop between the hitting and swinging. It seemed easier to control lag pressure with a hitting approach, but I thought I'd give the delayed hip action a try as a way to regulate lag pressure when swinging.

We're just having a little fun. Nice Scores. Really Impressive. I only wish I could do that. However, I have found #3 pressure point or #2 to work the best and give it a lot of pre-shot visualization. Lag is feel, feel is lag.
I understand how lag pressure will affect distance. Is it simply a matter of getting more in touch with #2 and # 3 PP's through practice or is delayed hip action a viable approach to varying lag pressure. Seems like I would only be able to create so much lag from a slightly pre-turned hip position versus making a full turn. (Uh-oh, that's starting to sound like a pivot-controlled hands procedure).
You have at least 3 distance with each club by just gripping up and down the club. If you put some time on the range you could regulate your backswing and learn the clock position method. You could move ball stance and face position and control you distance by trajectory. My old favorite was to regulate the speed of my hip turn to get the distance. In reality it is nothing more than using your subconscious brain that lets you throw a baseball to different distances. Like putting you have feel or not. In the end the feel is in the hands. If you think your throwing the club you can learn to regulate it.
This is all so great. I pledge to shoot a video on Saturday (T+1) that will amplify the comments of Daryl, Jim, Cometgolfer and Davel in their posts 8-11.
It will take another week to get it up, but I will do it.
