Well once again the great British summer seems to be a big let down. Played on Sunday in the wind and rain and had a terrible time. I've never been able to play in wet weather gear, Sunday wasn't any different. Straight topped my 2 iron on the first. After 3 holes i'd had enough and decided to brave the rest of my round in my t-shirt.

It seems that with all that gear on it makes my bobbing worse (which i still haven't solved, theres a thread somewhere on it) and i loose all freedom to swing my arms, everything gets caught up.

Can anyone give me any advice, i've a big comp on Saturday and no doubt the heavens will open again.

Cheers,

Danny
Try a short sleeve waterproof pullover. Zero restriction and Foot-joy make the best ones. If you must wear a long sleeve make sure it is loose, again Zero is the best in my opinion. The key to playing in rain is preparation. Make sure you have plenty of gloves and towels and keep them dry. I use big zip-lock bags.

As far as swinging goes, the extra clothes will make you feel like you have to overswing, but don't! I reaaly focus on establishing an impact fix head location and maintaining it throughout. This makes me feel very low and I tend to not overswing when I try to maintain this crucial position. Try to swing the club from a top position rather than end. Remember the speed comes through the ball not on the backswing.

Good luck and stay dry.
