Tracing a Straight Plane Line

Two Questions:

1. When I take the club back in the backstroke and attempt to draw a straight plane line, what should I focus on? Up to now, I have been focusing on the shaft and clubhead pointing to the base plane line unit the shaft gets parallel to the base plane line. At that point, I focus on the grip end pointing to the base plane line. This has been reasonably successful. Yesterday, I shifted my focus to my right forearm tracing the line--rather than the clubhead and shaft-- and I seemed to get more consistency with my total swing. Should it matter which I use to trace the plane line, the clubhead or the right forearm?

2. What is the "alternative target line" and how does it relate to the base plane line? What am I supposed to be tracing?

but you always trace the selected plane-a straight line to the inside aft quadrant of the ball- or a curved path to the inside aft quadrant of the ball.

When Tracing a Staight Plane Line your target is to the back of the ball rather than the inside aft quadrant of the Arc of Approach procedure. Both will produce identical Clubhead motions.

That's interesting, I can trace a straight plane but still focus #3pp at the inside aft quadrant,no?
I don't get the difference when tracing on an inclined plane.

The arm labeled "ANGLE ARM" is your angle of approach or alternate target line. The "Target Arm" is parallel to your base plane line.

Right Forearm Tracing (RFT) is,in my opinion,the best way to trace the plane line, as you are able to focus on the hands rather than the club.

The alternative target line can be open or closed to the plane line -but you always trace the plane line.Be aware that you can have an open stance (to plane) or an open stance and plane(to target) but still hit it to target-but you always trace the selected plane-a straight line to the inside aft quadrant of the ball- or a curved path to the inside aft quadrant of the ball.

That was a bad on my part -should have said -a straight line through the ball in both directions to infinity regardless of whether you use the arc or angle of approach proceedure.

Your Delivery Line goes through he back of the ball. Aim at the back of the ball.

If monitoring Arc of Approach, Angle of Approach, Delivery Paths of Thrust, use the Inside Aft Quadrant.

I get you Drew .What I meant was that tracing a straight plane line produces the same motion but you're just monitoring it differently.
I'm going to stop posting for a while -I'm having BIG trouble with my medication and I could have caused confusion so I deleted the worst post.
