It helps keep the right shoulder from moving out over plane, with the chin back, the right shoulder has a 'track' to move downplane properly. It also encourages better accumulator release sequence.

That makes alot of sense - thanks EdZ.

Alex Morrison was obviously on to something that improved swings...but understanding why it works makes it more useful.

I think in Nicklaus' case it could have something to do with eye dominance. I think I read he is left eye dominant . . .
