He grips it under the heal of his left hand, so lots of #3. Although his Dad always wanted him to be more upright with his shaft angle, like he was at the Masters in 97. He has a definite three Stations, Address, Top, Finish with an associated Lag Pressure for the distance at hand. He is equally paced on both sides of the ball and both sides are equally long. So no hit at the ball but a personal preference for a slightly faster paced tempo. Tight ish grip pressure. He says he is primarily right sided, practices with just his right arm but he doesnt extend his arms to both arms straight so it looks like a pivot stroke. A right armed stroke with no extension? He "releases the putter" whatever that means I dont know, sounds like more than Angled, but Im not sure. He practices with a string line which suggests he is tracing an arc of approach.
Oh, and he sinks everything. Best ever maybe. But he wasnt as kid or early on as a pro. Very, very unusual. What did he learn?
