Face it!
I'll get the ball rolling. A key for me is making sure that my clubface is "looking" where it needs to look when I set my impact alignments. When the ball is above your feet, due to the "flattening" of the plane the clubface will point further left, especially with the short irons. When the ball is below your feet there is a "steepening" effect and consequently the face will point further right (I find this shot significantly easier to play due to hook-face nature of golf clubs) Golf clubs are camber-soled which means you can set up and use multiple planes without the heel or the toe of the club digging. Hope that is a good start to answering your question.
